FAQs

Q. Can you be too old to have a brace?
A. There are no age restrictions for most types of orthodontic treatment. Ouality Orthodontics is the largest adult orthodontic practice in the Midlands and as long as we have the right conditions for moving teeth (e.g. enough bone support and healthy gums) then we are able to move them.

Q. Is orthodontic treatment uncomfortable?
A. Having a brace fitted is not painful. Once the brace is fitted there is usually some discomfort for the first couple of days. This can be managed with a soft diet and if needed some pain relief.

Q. How long will I have to wear a brace?
A. The length of orthodontic treatment differs from person to person. Each person is treated as an individual, so the length of treatment cannot be predicted without an initial consultation. As a guide line, an average length of time for a fixed appliance treatment is 18 – 24 months.
